Beauties

These lovely beauties await me when I'm finished with my exams. Can't wait to start! Also, I'd like to read some Coelho, as I haven't read any of his books and I'd like to re-read some classics like Madame Bovary.

P.S. Those interested in creative writing course, be sure to check Bo's last comment here.

I am going through this mountain of books, beautiful indeed, exactly 13 of them, are they sorted, I can't figure how (might proper quantization of thicknesses reveal a sequence of prime numbers?), guess they are laid randomly, but not randomly picked as well, anyway, all this doesn't concern me that much, instead I am very tempted, Salinger's Catcher is one of my favourites, now where is my camera ...

P.S. Blogger.com on strike? My comment is getting rejected.

They are sorted by legth of their covers - the bigger at the bottom, smaller at the top. :) There's no secret code in it...

True ... well, see what happens if you get a physicists analyzing something ... however, doesn't the number of the books, 13, worries you a bit? I know I would put one more on the top, just for the Lucky Number. Or take one away ... nah, put one on the top.

But really, happy: examing and reading afterwards.

13 doesn't worry me in the slightest.

Salinger's Catcher is one of my favourites

Yuck ! I had to go to therapy because of boredom induced jaw injury, slashed wrists and bruised head after reading it (like 4 times otherwise I would risk failing my finals). Only posting insulting remarks on Salinger's fandom message board and burning the book in an obscure voodoo ritual managed to salvage my sanity.

Well I guess it's one of those books that you either really like or dislike.

CCfly, uh, you had to go through all that? I'm sorry to hear that.
Because I like the book very much, the story is simple, yet imaginative, nice English, very accessible - yes, that's what I like about the book the most, for it likes to be friends with me. I quite like it. Unfortunately it hasn't been for years since I last read it.

I think you're right, CCfly, it's either you like or dislike the book. I know many generations have been force fed this book in English classes or for Matura and they started to hate it. Maybe you'd see the book differently if you read it on your own.

I only read it once, in a Slovenian translation, but this Summer I decided to read the original. I hope I'll like it still after the second reading. Afterall, I've read Salinger's Franny and Zooey four times and I still love it. :)

I intend to read both Coelho's books you menation, Belgothiel. As for Hesse, no. I feel like I missed to many wonderful books already and that life just might be too short to read them all. :)

I really adore Menuet, so if you'll like it, I'll like you ;)

P.S. Sorry about non-English, I've noticed the language just now.
